Trump Denies Peace Talks as U.S. Moves Toward Possible Direct Involvement Following Tehran Evacuation Warning

WASHINGTON, D.C. -President Donald Trump abruptly departed the G7 summit in Canada on Monday evening amid rising tensions in the Middle East, particularly between Israel and Iran. While some reports have suggested a potential meeting between U.S. and Iranian officials could take place this week, the President has publicly denied initiating any such discussions.

“This is just more HIGHLY FABRICATED, FAKE NEWS!” Trump wrote early Tuesday morning on his social media platform, Truth Social. “If they want to talk, they know how to reach me. They should have taken the deal that was on the table – Would have saved a lot of lives!!!”

French President Emmanuel Macron had earlier told reporters that Trump left the summit early to focus on a possible ceasefire. Trump pushed back on that characterization.

“He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that,” the President wrote in another post.

Just minutes before boarding Air Force One, Trump urged civilians in Iran’s capital to flee the city, writing: “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran.” The post, which followed remarks about Iran’s failure to accept a proposed agreement, has fueled concern among foreign policy analysts about the possibility of more direct U.S. involvement in the escalating regional conflict.

“Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign,” Trump added. “What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again!”

The remarks come amid a rapidly intensifying crisis. On Friday, Israel launched its first strike against Iran, prompting retaliatory missile attacks on Israeli cities. At least eight people were reportedly killed in the latest round of Iranian strikes. On Monday, Israeli forces targeted Iran’s state-run television station during a live broadcast.

“I’m not to much in the mood to negotiate” Trump said in a statement to Fox News Tuesday morning “they should’ve taken the deal” he continued

As of Tuesday morning, no official meeting between American and Iranian officials has been confirmed.
